With the general aim of perpetuating the life work of the late Dr. Robert Lindner, the Robert Lindner Foundation has been created in Baltimore. Author Philip Wylie is chairman of the foundation, which within five weeks of its beginning had received $25,000 in funds to be used for encouraging the expression of creative ideas in the fields of psychoanalysis and mental hygiene. The foundation will work to foster accomplishment through forums, publications and the presentation of awards, for the purpose of freeing men for the maximal use of their energies.

Dr. Lindner, who died in February at the age of 41, was a In addition to prominent psychologist, author and lecturer. practice in Baltimore, he also served as a member of the faculty of the University of Maryland and was affiliated with the Maryland prison system. Books by Lindner include "Must You Con form," "Rebel Without Cause," "Fifty Minute Hour" and others. He has appeared as author of many leading magazine articles and lectured extensively.

The Foundation lists as specific projects work in three fields: (1) Education-an annual series of lectures on the wider aspects of Depth Psychology and its application to human problems, for the purpose of extending man's educational limits in his quest for the better understanding of himself, his relationships with others and with society;

(2) Publications-particularly the publication and distribution of the "Robert Lindner Lectures," and (3) Awards—an annual award will be presented to the person who, in the opinion of the Foundation, has made the outstanding contribution to those fields of interest to the Foundation.

Serving on the Foundation's Rofessional Committee are: Dr. Theodor Reik, Dr. Ralph Banay, Dr. Martin Bergmann, Dr. Philip Harriman and Dr. William Zielonka.

Morton Abrahams is chairman of the Board of Trustees. It also includes: Dr. Irving Abramson, Herman Fish, Samuel Lazerow, Norman Mailer, Dr. Burton Pollack, Jack Rosen, Fred Weisgal and Drs. Reik and Zielonka.
